The best Uni course EVER!!!!!!

In preparation for the Science Circus’ indigenous tour we had to participate in some 4WD training. Much fun was to be had by all. Joel is very excited by the prospect.

The first step was treacherous
enough.

A few circus freaks took the wrong line and got stuck. The rest of us laughed.

When driving gets boring, baseball is always fun. A view of the track; It gets steeper around the bend.
On the way up…

There was a traffic jam…

Back down again.

The Return of the SNES.

Tracey we salute you.
She brought her brother’s SNES from Orange, and I bought Super Mario World from Ebay.
My life has never been better. It took me just over four hours to complete all the levels. I’m trying to get Rock ‘n’ Roll Racinin’, but its very expensive…

Here are all our games. They include: Bubsy, Mario Kart, Donkey Kong Country, Unirally, MK3, Super International Cricket, World Cup USA, and of course Super Mario World. I remember all of these fondly (except the soccer. I never played it before, and its sux).
What a sensational shot. A close up would reveal: Game A – 96. Women love me.

A damn fine Tim

I found this on my camera.
Its a damn good photo of Timmy.

The 80's revival

Second Semester has started and so we celebrate in the best way possible. A bar night.
Themed the 80’s (I personally could not think of a better theme).
I dressed in my usual wardrobe and proceeded to the common room…
The night was a complete success, except due to the age of the 'playlist maker' most songs were from the 90's. However AC/DC was played, and my neck will never forgive me.

Hannah, The Boof and myself. My natural charm brought in these lovely ladies without the use of alcohol.
Here we go. I got to rock out with Mario and punk with an attitude problem.

If only my camera worked earlier. Thanks ladies!

Cowra Picnic Races

Six of us from Canberra made it through to the Cowra Picnic Races this year for what turned out to be an eventful day. It all started just after we had cracked open our first beverages. We should have seen the doom coming when my ID was checked by security. We all laughed as my details were recorded, but I think the last laugh was on us. Without realising we were heading for certain danger we quickly commenced with the merriment. There's the drinking, Pinko on a long draw and the large cheers in the middleCatching up with old mates. Kev, the surprise visit as he grabbed a ride from Roberts, the man who can be seen challening me to a drink off. New mates were made too. Cheers Adrian.

After the races we went to the Impy, a lovely hotel in the middle of Cowra. But not all was well. During the night people became unhappy, I cursed my good friend Pinko in a drunken black mood, not realising my wish would be fulfilled.

Here is the cursed man, wearing his dark glasses inside, after getting into a blue. A few hefty strikes to his face has left his nose swollen and his eye blackened. Needless to say the fun didn't stop there. Only a few hours later Rimsy lost his wallet and all his winnings from the races.

And then the alarm went off...

...Tracey's poor car, vandalised. The driver's window smashed and her Honda badge stolen. A bunch of savages in that town. On the positive we did gain a new rock.

And finally some of us suffered terrible hangovers. The price Ash payed for getting loose at the Moose the night before the races. Honestly who would dream of doing such a silly and juvenile thing...

Its a Long Way to the Top

I've started running again. The base of Mt Ainslie is my favourite path. Its about 11 kms I think.

These Kangaroos are just some of fab sites you can see whilst running in the bush around Canberra.

Its been 4 months since my last race and the Oxfam Trailwalker is in two months. Its a 100km foot race. You run in teams of four. I have found a team that is interested in me, but their expected finishing time is a bit slower than I would like. I've run three times in the past, and this year will probably be my last. My goal has always bee to finish in under 18 hrs. I think I'm fit enough to finish in under 16 now, but I'm yet to find a team who is willing to accept someone who can't train with them (most teams are in Sydney).

Chemistry

It was raining on Thursday, so I couldn't go to the building site. Instead I sat down with some fascinating items I brought from Dick Smith and proceeded to try and turn a lemon into a battery. I have a low inertia motor and a small LED, both of which need on 1.5 V (a AAA battery) to function. PLease note the extreme importance of both the first year lecture notes and the Carlton Draught (VB is better).

I'm only supposed to use stuff from around the home. I have Aluminium foil and silver coins for electrodes (American quarters were slightly better than Australin 50c coins) and a lemon as a battery acid. I also tried paper dipped in water saturated with table salt. It worked, but not quite as good as the lemon

It wasn't as succesful as I'd hoped, in particular as this is part of my assessment for the Science Circus. While I got a maximum of about 1.8 volts from four battery cells in a series the potential difference fluctuated so violently I wasn't able to make the motor work or light the LED.

Next I'm going to try lemon juice and coke. I'm hoping that the lemon fibres are somehow interuppting the transfer of electrons.

The House that Phill Built

I have managed to find a cash-in-hand job helping a friend of a friend build a house. However, I do wonder as to this house's structural integrity due to my coimplete lack of knowledge of how to build stuff.

This is a picture of the garage, I've been working on the wall on the right.

Here I am working while my friends were at the snow. It looks like I was with them too, but I'm just covered in polysteryne. I am also sideways.
